Two Indian sailors are missing after a commercial vessel was hit by a drone attack off the coast of Oman, India's shipping minister confirmed on Monday.
Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said the tanker MT Petro Dolphin, carrying 11 Indian crew members, was struck in the anchorage area near the port of Sohar.
Nine Indian crew members have been successfully rescued and are safe, while two remain missing, Sonowal posted on social media platform X.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reclassified the incident as an attack following confirmation that the vessel was struck by an unmanned aerial vehicle.
