MANAMA: A Bahrain-based techonology entrepreneur has been awarded the title of “Visionary CEO of the Year” at the Catalyst Awards, held as part of the EMEA Future IT Summit in Dubai.
Mirza Asrar Baig is the chief executive of CTM360, a comprehensive cyber threat management centre based in Bahrain.
A statement said Mr Baig was chosen for “the active part he has played in nurturing innovation and facilitating collaboration amongst practitioners within the information security and cybersecurity space for the last 30 years”.
He initiated multiple research and development initiatives and regional collaboration that resulted in CTM360.
As part of his presentation at the summit, Mr Mirza emphasised the importance of cyber resilience and cyber vigilance in cloud security and how organisations should redefine their approach into “Doing different, rather than doing more”.
He also explored the traditional definitions of IT security, information security and cyber security.
