BAHRAIN’S digital transformation during the Covid-19 pandemic will be highlighted in a major conference this week.
More than 500 experts including industry leaders, chief executives, decision-makers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman and the UK will take part in the “Virtual Bahrain 2020” conference, to be held tomorrow and Wednesday.
It will be held under the patronage of Information and eGovernment Authority chief executive Mohammed Al Qaed and is organised by WorkSmart for Events Management and Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH).
The speakers will highlight Bahrain’s achievements during the pandemic and how other sectors can benefit from the experience.
The conference also aims to encourage digital transformation in the public and private sectors and to inspire business owners to push ahead despite the difficult circumstances.
It also hopes to boost start-ups, especially in the digital field.
Worksmart for Events Management group chief executive Ahmed Al Hujairy, told the GDN that the event aims to highlight how various sectors overcame the pandemic through the use of information technology and how they have adapted to “the new normal”.
“The event will highlight the achievements of Bahrain in support with the national initiative #TeamBahrain,” said Mr Al Hujairy.
“We have invited industry leaders to share their experiences and best practices about the sectors and how technology helped in overcoming the challenges amidst the pandemic.
“We will also have a first of its kind virtual expo with 50 exhibitors showcasing their products and services,” he said.
