Parliament held the shortest session of this term today as many MPs didn’t return after the Dhohr prayers.
Since December 2018, no session has ever finished before 3pm, even when MPs failed to return to their seats after breaks.
Parliament Speaker Fouzia Zainal was back in the chamber at 1.15pm after Dhohr prayers, but not many MPs were plugged into Zoom.
The required quorum for any session to go ahead is 21 out of 40 MPs.
