The Bahrain Paralympic Committee (BPC) has signed a co-operation agreement with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The agreement aims at aligning the BPC’s plans and projects with the Sustainable Development Goals, covering various initiatives, including the 2021 Asian Youth Para Games, which will be hosted by Bahrain in November.
BPC chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa said that the agreement is part of the strategic objectives of the committee, adding that BPC is working to implement all measures and initiatives concerned with strengthening efforts to empower para athletes and fully integrate them into community life.
UNDP resident representative Stefano Pettinato said: “We are delighted to seal this collaboration with BPC today, and look forward to working with the committee and other actors in supporting its noble objective of integrating persons with all types of abilities in the field of sports.”
