Bahraini athlete Ruba Al Omari finished fifth in the discus throw competition at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games.
Al Omari managed to set a new personal record, throwing the discus at a distance of 23.11 metres.
Bahraini athlete Ahmed Mushaima also put up a remarkable performance, finishing eighth in the javelin throw competition. He set a new personal record of 39.37 metres.
Technical director Iman Hassan said the competition was strong and the new records show that athletes gave their 100 per cent and the technical team did their best to prepare them. She also pointed out the athletes’ complete readiness to compete at the highest level.
Bahraini referee Abbas Musa Ali Bouhassan, the only Arab umpire in the tournament, continues officiating in the triathlon competition in Tokyo.
