MANAMA: From October 4, the rules for international travel to England will change from the traffic light system to a single red list of countries and simplified travel measures for arrivals from the rest of the world, including Bahrain, based on the vaccination status, the UK Embassy said last night. Under the new rules, fully-vaccinated travellers from Bahrain aren’t required to provide pre-departure Covid-19 test or self-isolate, it said.
The embassy said “if travelling from Bahrain and fully vaccinated for at least 14 days with a full course of Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna or Janssen or mixing between two-dose vaccines above:
1. Passenger Locator Form;
2. Take Covid-19 test on/before Day 2 of arriving in England.
If travelling from Bahrain and don’t qualify under UK fully vaccinated rules:
1. Pre-departure Covid-19 test in the three days before travelling.
2. Passenger Locator Form.
3. Covid-19 test on/before Day 2 and on/after Day 8 of arriving.
4. Home quarantine (Early Release Scheme available).
For further details on changes to the UK international travel rules, to pre-book Covid-19 tests, to access the Passenger Locator Form or to apply for early release, kindly refer to gov.uk”, the embassy said.
