Hobb Al Maskati has won the creative challenge posed by the National Space Science Agency (NSSA) to Bahraini student artists aged 7-12.
Ali Khunji came second and Dana Al Saffar was third, NSSA said as it announced the names of the winners of the competition.
They bested more than 40 other participants who answered the challenge dubbed Astro Art – a themed art contest that explores human space activity and the exciting applications of space science.
The winning art pieces depicted the powerful call of space and the youthful aspiration of exploring other worlds. The online competition saw versatile renditions of astronomical art showcasing the wonders of the universe.
The winning space artists were awarded gifts and souvenirs from NSSA.
NSSA’s chief executive Dr Mohamed Al Aseeri expressed satisfaction with the way children and youth have been responding to their efforts at promoting what is fun, curiosity-sparking and inspiring about space science and STEM in general.
