GERMANY has removed Covid-linked travel restrictions on passengers from Bahrain, according to the country’s ambassador.
All Bahraini citizens who have received approved Covid-19 vaccination can enter Germany from today, Bahrain’s Embassy in Germany said yesterday.
This is applicable for holders of valid visas for all normally permitted purposes, including tourism, with the need to undergo a PCR test 48 hours prior to travel, it said.
German Ambassador Kai Boeckmann also tweeted about the change in the travel rules.
UN Resident Co-ordinator Mohamed El Zarkani, in a tweet said the move “is yet another testament to the excellent effort of the government of Bahrain in handling the Covid-19 pandemic”.
The GDN reported yesterday that the Council of the European Union had urged member states to lift travel restrictions on travellers from Bahrain and the UAE after both countries marked a drop in the number of coronavirus cases in recent weeks.
