The government is planning to secure water reserves to confront potential emergencies, according to a report in Akhbar Al Khaleej.
Replying to a parliamentary proposal, it said that the reserves would meet needs for up to six months.
This is based on an assessment of the impact of potential dangers on water supplies in Bahrain.
The contingency plan includes strategic water reserves, ground water, internal and GCC water linkages, in addition to bottled water and the possibility of importing water in times of emergencies.
