Ibrahima Thomas scored 37 points as Bahrain Club snapped Muharraq’s four-game winning streak this season in the Zain Bahrain Basketball League last night.
Thomas led the way with seven three-pointers, 15 rebounds and one assist in the sixth-week game at Zain Arena in Um Al Hassam as Bahrain Club won 83-68 to seal their third victory of the season.
Bahrain Club dominated throughout the game, edging ahead of their famed opponents in all the quarters. They led 45-34 at half time and continued to torment Muharraq after the interval before snatching an impressive 15-point victory.
Ali Abbas with 12 points and Ali Asghar and Jawad Abdulla with 11 apiece were the other main scorers for the winners while Muharraq’s top scorer was DeWayne Jackson with 28 points.
Muharraq, who started off the season with a one-sided 102-63 win over Al Ettihad, continued their victory run defeating Al Najma, Sitra and Al Hala until they were brought to a shuddering halt by Bahrain Club last night.
Bahrain Club’s previous victories were against Samaheej and Isa Town, following a three-game losing streak.
