The Royal Endurance Team members continued their preparations yesterday ahead of the Windsor Equestrian Championship.
The team trained yesterday in its designated area in the presence of team director Dr Khalid Ahmed Hassan. The team, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, will participate in the veterinary examination today. The team’s jockeys will be with the horses in the championship village to conduct the necessary tests for the 160km and 120km races for the public, in addition to the 120km for the juniors and the 100km contest.
Dr Hassan was briefed on the preparations of the Royal Guard Cavalry, who will feature in the horse shows to be organised as part of the championship. He met Colonel Shaikh Ahmed bin Saqr Al Khalifa, Commander of the Ceremonial and Cavalry Group of the Royal Guard, to discuss the programme.
Meanwhile, team member Shaikh Isa bin Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa thanked Shaikh Nasser for his support to the team which, he said, would encourage the jockeys to aim for top places in the championship.
