A schoolgirl has donated her hair to help children with cancer.
Indian Eshaal Fathima, aged nine, donated 44cm of her hair to the Bahrain Cancer Society (BCS).
For the past two years, the fourth-grade Indian School Bahrain student had been growing her hair.
“I wanted to donate my hair so that children who needed wigs could have one,” she explained.
“I began growing my hair during the pandemic in order to donate it to cancer patients; I learned that it is beneficial to them because many people lose their hair as a result of cancer treatments.”
Her father Shafeeque Madhuramangalath is an Arcal safety officer while mum Rubeena Nalakath works at the Little Princess Nursery in Hidd.
The family is originally from Tirur, Kerala.
