Bahrain’s Ambassador to Türkiye Dr Ibrahim Yusuf said the embassy contacted five Bahraini nationals at earthquake locations in Türkiye, confirming their safety.
Four of them are in Hatay province, three of whom were in Türkiye for medical treatment, one is married to a Turkish man, and the fifth citizen is a student in Gaziantep, the ambassador told our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.
The five citizens told the embassy that they are fine and safe and live with Turkish families in their homes on a temporary basis until the roads that closed due to the earthquake are opened. The embassy will then take them to Istanbul and then to Bahrain, he said.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Syria Waheed Sayyar revealed that there were no victims among Bahraini nationals in Syria and Lebanon for the second day in a row, and all Bahraini nationals in Damascus and Sayeda Zainab were safe.
