His Majesty King Hamad yesterday issued an order to disburse Ramadan gifts to all Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF)-sponsored families.
The King is the foundation’s honorary president.
He directed the foundation’s board of trustees chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to assume the task of disbursement of these gifts to families ahead of Ramadan to help them meet their needs, and alleviate their financial burden.
Shaikh Nasser, who is also the King’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs, thanked His Majesty for his care for the families.
He praised the King’s constant directives to provide dignified livelihood to citizens and his support for orphans and widows to ensure stable and dignified lives for them.
RHF secretary general Dr Mustafa Al Sayed said that the King has always been keen on sharing with the RHF-sponsored families on all occasions, including the holy month.
He asserted that the royal annual gift emanates from the King’s care and aims to ensure stable livelihood for all citizens.
The King’s annual grant benefits more than 11,000 orphans and widows.
