Bahrain last night mourned the tragic death of First Lieutenant Hamad Khalifa Al Kubaisi who succumbed to the injuries he suffered in a terror attack by Houthi forces on Monday.
The latest casualty takes the death toll to four BDF servicemen.
First Lieutenant Mubarak Al Kubaisi and Private First Class Yaqoub Mohammed were buried in Bahrain on Tuesday while First Warrant Officer Adam Salem Naseeb was buried on Thursday.
BDF forces were stationed on the southern borders of Saudi Arabia as part of the Arab Coalition forces participating in Operation Decisive Storm and Operation Restoring Hope when they came under the drone attack, despite a truce in hostilities being agreed.
A number of servicemen were injured in the incident.
“The BDF deeply mourns the tragic loss of the fallen serviceman First Lieutenant Hamad Khalifa Al Kubaisi who valiantly sacrificed his life in the line of duty,” a statement released yesterday said.
“First Lieutenant Al Kubaisi succumbed to the injuries he suffered as a result of the Houthi act of aggression last Monday.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family of the fallen serviceman and pray to Allah Almighty to rest his soul in eternal peace and, for the injured, a speedy recovery.”
