Tamkeen has announced the successful conclusion of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), one of the biggest SME events in the kingdom that aims to foster the growth and development of an entrepreneurial culture in the kingdom.
This sixth edition hosted more than 50 distinguished speakers participating in 35 engaging events, in a wide range of themes related to investment, entrepreneurship and ecosystem building.
Organised by Tamkeen, in collaboration with the Bahrain Chapter of Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), the week featured workshops and interactive lectures addressing the challenges of the entrepreneurial landscape.
The week’s inaugural event was the MENA Angel Investors Summit organised by angel investment firm Tenmou, which allowed local and regional startups to connect with investors from across the Mena region.
A special event during the week was a session by Industry and Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro on job market challenges and opportunities.
Other sessions focused on exporting to neighbouring markets, innovation, creative industries, and more.
This year’s edition also included a special event, held at Riyadat Mall, on the challenges and opportunities faced by female entrepreneurs.
Esam Hammad, the executive director of marketing and customer experience at Tamkeen and the managing director of GEN Bahrain, said: “Tamkeen’s celebration of GEW for six consecutive years is a testimony to its alignment with Bahrain’s commitment to nurturing entrepreneurship. This initiative serves as a catalyst for harnessing local talent, innovation and untapped potential, while inspiring individuals to venture into entrepreneurship.”
