The Cabinet yesterday expressed its heartfelt condolences on the passing of Pope Francis to his family and to the people of allied nations. The Cabinet also paid tribute to the Pope’s enduring efforts to advance peace, coexistence, and interfaith understanding around the world.
The Cabinet emphasised the Pope’s co-operation with the kingdom in supporting its initiatives to consolidate the values of coexistence, compassion and peace.
Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday.
The Cabinet emphasised the strength of relations between Bahrain and the Kyrgyz Republic, supported by His Majesty King Hamad. The Cabinet noted the importance of the visit of Kyrgyz Republic President Sadyr Zhaparov to Bahrain and its role in further enhancing bilateral relations.
The Cabinet affirmed the importance of the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit 2025, recently inaugurated by the Deputy Prime Minister, and extended its congratulations to the winners for their contributions to advancing sustainable smart city development. The Cabinet commended the efforts of the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry in organising the event.
The session condemned the terrorist plots targeting the security and stability of Jordan, affirming Bahrain’s unwavering support for Jordan and its legitimate measures to safeguard its security and stability.
The Cabinet reviewed a memorandum submitted by the Electricity and Water Affairs Minister and Tender Board chairman on the most important performance indicators of the Tender Board in 2024.
The Cabinet also reviewed and approved several memorandums, including technical compliance reports, anti-dumping duties, real estate acquisition, and international agreements.
They also noted ministerial reports on Bahrain’s participation in global healthcare and UN youth forums. Various development and economic initiatives were discussed.
