Kabul: A new batch of humanitarian aid has arrived in Afghanistan as part of the United Arab Emirates' relief bridge launched to support those affected by the recent earthquake in the country’s eastern regions, bringing the total UAE aid to more than 3,681 tonnes of food, shelter and medical supplies.
According to the Emirates News Agency, the Joint Operations Command at the UAE Ministry of Defence continues its intensive efforts to assist those affected through the air and sea relief bridge, along with procuring additional quantities from local markets to speed up delivery to beneficiaries.
Afghan officials and residents in the affected areas expressed their deep appreciation to the UAE, its leadership and people for the ongoing humanitarian support, underlining that these initiatives reflect the strong ties between the two countries and the UAE’s constant humanitarian approach in supporting victims of natural disasters and crises worldwide.
They also valued the efforts of UAE field teams in ensuring aid reaches those in need swiftly and effectively.
