A specialised van has been provided to the London Breast Care Centre (LBCC) by the Yousif & Aysha Almoayyed Foundation to help boost Breast Cancer Awareness Month initiatives in the community.
It has been converted into a fully-equipped mobile screening clinic that will provide free breast cancer screening services to women across villages and communities throughout Bahrain.
The official handover ceremony was recently held at LBCC in Bilad Al Qadeem and was attended by Almoayyed Foundation board member Jawaher Almoayyed and foundation in charge Ashish Shetty.
Specialist radiologist Dr Suzanna Nedeljkovic was among leading LBCC representatives also present.
The move reflects the foundation’s ongoing commitment to advancing healthcare accessibility and supporting early detection efforts for breast cancer. By extending these critical services into underserved areas, the foundation seeks to empower women with access to timely and potentially life-saving screenings.
Commenting on the initiative, Ms Almoayyed said: “Every year, Breast Cancer Awareness Month reminds us of the importance of health, prevention, and community support. With this mobile clinic, we are taking a step further to reach women where they are – whether in towns, villages, or remote areas – ensuring that early detection is not a privilege but a right available to all.
“Our foundation remains committed to strengthening healthcare initiatives that bring long-term benefit to the people of Bahrain.”
The mobile clinic commenced its outreach at the beginning of October and will continue its visits across multiple locations throughout the month.
The initiative underlines the vital role of early detection in reducing the impact of breast cancer and reinforces the Yousif & Aysha Almoayyed Foundation’s broader, long-term pledge to support healthcare and wellness across the kingdom.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is held every October to raise awareness of the disease, by urging women to self-check and go for regular mammograms that can often find breast changes that could be cancerous before physical symptoms develop.
