FOOTBALL – Al Sehla North became the first team to qualify for the second round in the 22nd Kingdom Golden Generation U-17 Youth Centres Championship.
Sehla North booked their tickets after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Al Hoora and Gudaibiya.
The tournament is organised by the Empowerment Youth Centre in Al Sehla, in cooperation with the Abu Quwah and Al Hoora and Gudaibiya youth centres.
Sehla North took an early lead with two quick goals in the first half, scored by Nizar Abdulmutalib in the 20th minute and Yousif Saeed in the 28th.
Nabeel Mohamed pulled one back for Al Hoora and Gudaibiya in the 37th minute, but Sehla North held firm in the second half to secure the win and advance as the first qualified team.
With this result, Sehla North top Group B with seven points, followed by Al Hoora and Qudaibiya with four.
Al Sanabis stand on three points, Karrana on two, and Samaheej remain without points.
Today at 5.15pm, the tournament will feature one match between Al Ma’ameer and Al Qadisiyah in Group A, which is currently led by Ma’ameer with six points.
Abu Quwah, Al Shakhoura, and Karzakan each have three points, while Qadisiyah are still searching for their first points.
