One of Bahrain’s leading five-star beach resorts – The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain – has embraced the kingdom’s bid to boost the number of yacht arrivals by launching a ‘luxury boat culture’ experience.
Seef is set for a touch of Monaco aimed at blending its maritime history with its potential status as the glamorous, celebrity-frequented destination in the Arabian Gulf, as highlighted at a special launch event last night.
Attendees included Transportation and Telecommunications Minister Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrain Chamber second vice-chairman Mohammed Abdul Jabbar Al Kooheji, International Hotels Bahrain director Yamil Santiago and The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain general manager Bernard de Villèle, alongside senior officials and media representatives.
The initiative has been made possible thanks to Edict (9) of 2025 offering a new fast, effective navigation permit service for visiting vessels to make sailing in Bahraini territorial waters safer and more accessible.
“This collaboration is an ode to the rich maritime heritage of the Kingdom of Bahrain and positions the hotel’s marina as a hub for nautical tourism, welcoming seafaring guests from the region,” said Mr de Villèle.
In harmony with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and the national ‘Yachting in Bahrain’ agenda, ‘Luxury Boat Culture’ reflects the kingdom’s commitment to strengthening its reputation as a premier destination for yachting enthusiasts.
Designed to enhance the nautical experience of guests, the new collaboration exemplifies the shared vision between the Kingdom of Bahrain and The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain to promote sustainable growth, ensure maritime safety and advance the kingdom’s global role as a cultural and economic gateway across the Gulf, Mr de Villèle added.
Speaking at the event exclusively to the GDN, Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry Ports Affairs Assistant Under-Secretary Mayas Alagha said, “We are pleased to be present here for the official launch of the ‘Luxury Boat Culture’ experience at the Royal Marina; it’s a beautiful facility that provides services to boats.
“The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain even offers services such as communicating with Coastguard, Customs and Transportation Ministry to finalise all formalities required to be present in Bahrain. The docks are very modern.”
Anchored within the Royal Beach Club, the Royal Marina aims to give new meaning to arrival by sea through the ‘lens of modern elegance’.
Guests are greeted by personalised docking assistance and seamless immigration co-ordination, rooted in the signature warmth of The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain hospitality.
Berthing options welcome vessels from eight to 29 metres, complemented by bespoke amenities, full access to resort facilities, 24/7 room service as on-boat dining option, and the privilege of exploring an expansive list of leisurely offerings.
‘Luxury Boat Culture’ is more than just a docking experience,” it unfolds into a lifestyle of exploration and elegance, characterised by curated excursions from dolphin watching and hidden enclave discovery to scenic cruises along the breath-taking coastline of the kingdom.
The marina connects seamlessly to the resort’s 17 award-winning restaurants, where dining spans the globe from Italy to India, and the Royal Beach Club, where wellness, recreation and gastronomy unite in perfect harmony.
At its heart, ‘Luxury Boat Culture’ is more than a lifestyle; it is a tribute to the timeless bond between the kingdom and the sea.
