Applied Science University (ASU) recently participated in a dialogue aimed to strengthen academic collaboration between higher education institutions in China and the GCC.
The China-GCC Higher Education Co-operation Dialogue promoted the exchange of expertise in language, research, technology and higher education governance.
The ASU delegation was headed by board of trustees chairman Waheeb Al Khaja, university president Professor Hatem Masri and the president’s adviser for follow-up affairs and administrative and financial affairs director Abdulla Al Khaja.
During the dialogue, Prof Al Khaja highlighted several key areas for future collaboration, including cultural and language programmes aimed at promoting Chinese-language education in GCC universities and schools through smart classrooms and educational camps.
Additionally, initiatives supporting student mobility and scholarship exchange to enhance mutual understanding were also discussed.
Prof Al Khaja also emphasised the importance of developing institutional partnerships in applied sciences, engineering, digital technologies, and sustainable energy, as well as establishing joint research centres and academic programmes that foster innovation and capacity building.
He noted that co-operation between China and the GCC represents a promising opportunity to strengthen cultural and research exchange and to advance higher education in alignment with Bahrain’s future vision.
