Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, received Asmaa Shalabi, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the presence of Amna Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE).
Dr. Bin Dainah underscored the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to continuing close cooperation with the United Nations and its specialised agencies to promote environmental sustainability and ensure the optimal use of natural resources. He commended the role played by UNDP in supporting the Kingdom’s development efforts.
The meeting discussed means to strengthen cooperation in the domains of environment and sustainable development in support of diversified and inclusive growth and in line with development objectives.
For her part, Asmaa Shalabi commended the Kingdom of Bahrain’s initiatives and efforts in climate action and environmental protection. She also emphasised UNDP’s commitment to further developing cooperation in support of shared aspirations.
