Transportation and Telecommunications Minister Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa took participated in the first Global AI Governance Dialogue, organised by the United Nations in Geneva.
Addressing the high-level government session, Dr Shaikh Abdulla said Bahrain views AI as a key driver of economic and social development and emphasised that maximising its potential requires international co-operation and the promotion of transparency, trust and inclusiveness to ensure its safe and responsible use.
He noted that Bahrain is preparing a national AI strategy to support the responsible adoption of emerging technologies, while continuing to invest in digital infrastructure, national talent and innovation.
