A daring heist has left Kuwaiti police hunting for two suspects who robbed a jewellery store in broad daylight, making away with a large amount of gold.
According to investigators, the robbers targeted the shop early in the morning when the gold market was quiet. A store employee reported that moments after he opened the shop, an individual wearing a face veil entered, pulled out a handgun and ordered him to be quiet. A second masked accomplice then handcuffed the employee before the duo looted the display cases and fled the scene in a getaway car.
The robbery only came to light three hours later when another employee arrived for their shift and discovered his colleague handcuffed.
Detectives from the Criminal Security Services believe the heist was meticulously planned. Investigators revealed that a stolen car fitted with stolen number plates was used in an attempt to evade detection.
The police have released descriptions of the suspects to all border crossings and circulated details of the stolen items to jewellery stores across Kuwait in a bid to apprehend the perpetrators.
