FOOTBALL – Bahrain’s under-20 football national team held hosts Oman to a 1-1 draw last night in a friendly game played as part of their overseas training camp in Muscat.
Skipper Khaled Al Khalaf scored the Bahrainis’ lone goal in the contest, which was the second of their trip to the Omani capital.
The two teams had earlier also played to a 1-1 stalemate in their first meeting earlier last week.
At yesterday’s clash, Bahrain Football Association (BFA) board member Shaikh Ahmed bin Isa Al Khalifa, who is heading the delegation in Muscat, presented a token of appreciation to the Oman Football Association for hosting their camp.
The Bahrainis, coached by former senior men’s national team and Muharraq Club star Ali Aamer, are scheduled to return to the kingdom today.
Twenty-six players participated in their foreign training foray, including Al Khalaf, Yahya Adel, Khaled Ahmed, Bader Hussain, Faisal Rashed, Mubarak Fawaz, Ahmed Al Marisi, Mohammed Salah, Vasilije Ciric, Aadam Fareed, Jassim Qassim, Sayed Ahmed Alwadaie, Khaled Alkhaldi, Abdulrahman Basem, Ali Mehran, Karrar Huwaida, Ahmed Nasser, Mohammed Al Jazzaf, Ali Hussain, Abdulla Osama, Komail Alsitrawi, Hussain Zuhair, and goalkeepers Issa Faisal, Hussain Ebrahim, Hassan Al Bastaki, and Abdulla Ahmed.
The nationals are gearing up for their upcoming competitions.
