The US Embassy in Bahrain staged a belated 250th Anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America celebration at Exhibition World Bahrain’s Grand Hall in Sakhir.
To mark the occasion, His Majesty King Hamad sent a cable of congratulations to President Donald Trump.
The King commended the achievements made by the US over 250 years in the fields of civilisation and science, as well as its model in building democratic institutions.
He affirmed its advanced position in innovation, the economy, culture and science, and its defence of the values of freedom and justice.
He described these achievements as great and befitting a great nation.
His Majesty highlighted the depth of the historic and strategic ties between the two countries, which are based on mutual respect, trust and co-operation.
The relations have been consolidated through the US standing by Bahrain in the most difficult circumstances.
His Majesty described these as steadfast and valued positions that remain in the Bahraini memory as standing by what is right.
The King noted the co-operation between the two countries within their partnership in defence, security, energy, education, health and investment, as well as their shared objectives of preserving security and stability in the region and the world and promoting the values of moderation and tolerance.
He affirmed that the kingdom remains committed to further strengthening the partnership and building on the achievements made for the benefit of the two countries.
His Majesty extended best wishes to President Trump and to the American people for continued progress and prosperity.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, sent similar cables to President Trump and Vice President J D Vance.
