Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani met Dr Abdullah Al Alimi Bawazeer, Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen.
Yemen Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr Afrah Abdulaziz Al Zouba attended the meeting on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
They reviewed the close relations between Bahrain and Yemen and explored ways to strengthen co-operation across various fields in support of their shared interests and objectives.
The two sides discussed security developments in Yemen and the efforts of the legitimate government to restore state authority and achieve security and stability in the country.
Dr Al Zayani separately met Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs George Gerapetritis.
They reviewed the historic friendship between Bahrain and Greece and ways to strengthen co-operation, building on the outcomes of His Majesty King Hamad’s visit to Greece and its fruitful results.
The two sides explored opportunities to strengthen partnership between the GCC and the European Union, in light of Bahrain’s current presidency of the GCC, as well as to co-ordinate efforts during Bahrain’s non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council and advance the implementation of agreements signed between the two countries.
