Strategic and economic shifts across the Gulf in light of current regional developments and their implications for the priorities of regional states, regional co-operation, capital flows and long-term investment have been reviewed in a panel discussion on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly sessions in New York.
Bahrain’s Ambassador to the US Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa participated in the panel discussion, ‘The Gulf in a Time of Conflict: Strategic Direction, Investment and Resilience’.
The debate was organised by the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Middle East Security Initiative in partnership with DLA Piper.
It brought together Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Member and Climate Envoy Adel bin Ahmed Al Jubeir; Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President Dr Anwar Gargash; and Dr Majed Al Ansari, adviser to the Prime Minister and spokesperson for Qatar’s Foreign Ministry.
Dr Shaikh Abdulla underscored the close co-ordination among GCC states throughout the current crisis. He highlighted the importance of joint action to align efforts in addressing current challenges.
