Bahrain have punched their ticket to the gold medal game of the men's handball tournament at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
The kingdom's senior men's national team secured their place after battling past the host Japanese 35-31 in a thrilling semi-final today.
The Bahrainis will next play either three-time defending champions Qatar or six-time Asiad title winners South Korea for the gold medals.
The final is scheduled for tomorrow at 1.30pm, Bahrain time.
Bahrain are hoping to secure their first-ever Asian Games men’s handball gold, which has eluded them over the past three editions of the quadrennial Olympic Council of Asia spectacle. They are repeat silver-medallists, having lost to the Qataris in the final of the previous two editions.
