Bahrain’s Birhanu Balew has secured a long-distance golden double today at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
Balew won the men’s 5,000 metres final in 13 minutes 30.79 seconds to add to the crown he won earlier in the men’s 10,000m.
With the result, the 30-year-old bagged Bahrain’s 10th gold medal at this year’s Asiad, bringing their sensational haul to 18 to date.
