The Interior Ministry’s athletes made a clean sweep in the Nasser Bin Hamad Showjumping Cups Championship, winning all the senior titles, including the Grand Prize.
Promising showjumper Haytham Al Bastaki showcased incredible skills en route to gifting the ministry team the Grand Prize at the prestigious championship held in Al Rafah.
He made a clean run to victory, clocking 54.21 seconds to outclass his competitors in the 145cm obstacle course.
Saber Salman of the Bahrain Defence Force came second after committing eight faults.
He posted a time of 58.64 seconds, ahead of Mahmood Abdulqader who clocked a time of 53 seconds with nine faults.
The top three winners in the main event of the championship were honoured by Shaikh Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, deputy president of the Showjumping Committee at Bahrain Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), along with Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi and Tawfiq Al Salehi, director of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Media Office and Information Centre.
Meanwhile, Hussain Dadaallah won the second title for the Interior Ministry team after topping the podium in the second competition of the day which featured 110cm obstacles.
He clocked 43.46 seconds. Saber Salman finished second in the championship after completing the contest in 38.48 seconds.
Mayoof Al Rumaihi of the Interior Ministry finished third.
The latter, however, went on to win the third competition of the day, crossing the finish line in 63.51 seconds.
He made a flawless run too in the 125cm course and was followed by Hamad Majeed Fakhrawi and Saber Salman in second and third respectively.
The Interior Ministry team grabbed the last title on offer in the championship thanks to Hussain Mohammed Dadaallah who jumped to victory in the joker contest.
