The Interior Ministry is taking part in the ‘Retro Manama’ event, being organised by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), in keeping with the principles of strengthening community partnership, national belonging and effective communication with various segments of society.
The participation embodies the long history of police work in Bahrain. The ministry organised a police parade featuring a guard of honour and the police band, performing patriotic music. The Capital Governorate Police Directorate also participated in the event.
The event features the first traffic light used in the kingdom in 1941 along with a display of vintage motorcycles used by traffic patrols and a number of traditional cannons that are an integral part of Bahraini security history.
