An employee of a large supermarket has been accused of changing the expiration dates on cleaning products, fearing that his salary would be docked, and will soon face criminal trial.
A representative of a company that imports the affected products allegedly assisted him and was also accused of tampering with expiration dates.
The Public Prosecution was informed of the alleged incident by the supermarket itself, which submitted security camera footage reportedly showing the two suspects carrying out the act.
According to a prosecution statement, the supermarket employee was responsible for removing products from the shelves at least 45 days before their expiration date, but allegedly failed to do so and later altered the dates to conceal his mistake.
The suspects were identified as Asian nationals in the statement.
