A beach in Algeria witnessed a strange phenomenon as sardines started jumping out of the water and onto the beach, leading local fishermen to run and take their chances at catching as many as they could.
The odd phenomenon occurred in Tipaza, west of the Algerian capital, where thousands of sardines leapt out of the water in a manner abnormal to the behaviour of this species.
The reason behind this occurrence is yet to be explained, but theories range from an increase in water temperature to sudden changes in their environment. Fishermen took this as a blessing and thanked God as they scooped up as many as they could.
