Staff Commander Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday met the First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff of the United Kingdom, Admiral Sir Ben Key, at the British Royal Navy headquarters.
Staff Commander Shaikh Isa affirmed Bahrain’s commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, to enhancing the strategic relations between the two kingdoms to achieve common aspirations.
He emphasised the importance of strengthening bilateral co-ordination and co-operation, particularly in the military and defence sectors, in line with the longstanding Bahrain-UK partnership.
Staff Commander Shaikh Isa affirmed the prominent role played by the United Kingdom, alongside allied countries, in safeguarding security and stability both regionally and globally.
During the meeting, ways to enhance bilateral relations, issues of common interest, and the latest regional and international developments were also discussed.
