Bahrain Specialist Hospital’s (BSH) Airport Clinic is ready to receive the first travellers at Bahrain International Airport’s new passenger terminal.
“The opening of the new Bahrain International Airport terminal is a proud moment for all of us,” said BSH managing director Dr Kasim O Ardati.
“It is the fruition of the efforts of the people of Bahrain and the vision of His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Prime Minister.
“I have no doubt that it will soon become an iconic gateway to this beautiful country!”
Dr Ardati considers it an honour that BSH will operate the Airside Medical Facility at the new passenger terminal building.
“A dedicated team of healthcare professionals will provide round-the-clock medical services to passengers and airport staff,” he said, adding that BSH will also act as first medical responders in case of emergencies.
“As a premier healthcare organisation, our endeavour is to always go above and beyond what is expected of us; this is also reflected in the fact that the BSH - Airport Clinic will be much more than an urgent and primary healthcare facility.
“We have outfitted the clinic to provide services including travel medicine, occupational health, preventive medicine, training and support, ambulance support and online consultation.
“Travellers can also consult with our clinicians regarding chronic conditions and travel-related illnesses, seek advice on required vaccinations to take when travelling to a new location, undergo basic health check-up and even order prescription medication!
“If our on-site pharmacy does not stock the medication, it can be shipped in from our main facility within 45 minutes to one hour.”
Travellers can also walk in or seek appointments in advance either through the website, or over the phone, he added.
